How to enable Brotli and Gzip on WordPress 🟒

The easiest way to enable Gzip and Brotli on WordPress is by using an optimization plugin. For example, W3 Total Cache lets you implement both compression methods with a few clicks.

Once you’ve installed and activated the plugin on your site, go to Performance β†’ Browser Cache. Then, look for Enable HTTP (gzip) compression and Enable HTTP (brotli) compression and check the relevant box:

Then, we enabled Brotli and ran the test again. This time, the page was compressed to 10.9 KB and the load time was 559 milliseconds:
