RSS might sound like a thing from the past, but it’s actually still one of the fastest ways to pull in content from other sites and display it on yours. And WordPress just happens to have no shortage of plugins to help with that.
That said, not all of them do the job the same way. Some are simple. Some are a mess. Some try to do everything at once.
I went through five of the most talked-about options: Feedzy, WP RSS Aggregator, WPeMatico, CyberSEO, and WP Content Pilot. I looked at what they offer, what they get wrong, and how they stack up.
All of them stand out for the main ability to import feeds as posts, display feeds via shortcodes, and (in most cases) even fetch full-text content.
If you’re using WordPress and want to pull content from other sources, this is for you.
Let’s get started.
1. Feedzy RSS Aggregator

Feedzy is our popular freemium RSS aggregator with both feed-to-post and feed display capabilities. Currently standing at 50,000 active installs and solid rating of 92%, which is making us very proud.
The first thing you should know about it is that Feedzy is a powerful yet lightweight plugin that can import RSS feed items as WordPress posts (feed-to-post) automatically and also display feed content using shortcodes or Gutenberg blocks.
It supports unlimited feed sources even in the free version, which makes it great for more serious content curation, or even creating an industry news aggregator. Feedzy’s interface integrates well with page builders like Elementor, the native block editor, and includes multiple templates and styling options in the premium version.
Key features
Feed to post: This is not the industry standard, but the “feed to post” feature is actually available in the free version of the plugin (with the pro enhancing this functionality further). In short, Feedzy lets you convert feed items into WordPress posts automatically (or pages, custom post types).
You can map feed elements to post fields (e.g. title, content, featured image) and even choose to publish immediately or as drafts for review. This is a key functionality for those of you who want to build a content aggregator. Feedzy can also bulk-import multiple feeds and categorize them for organization.

Shortcode display: The shortcode display is probably the second most popular feature of Feedzy. It’s quite straightforward in how it works – just add the Feedzy shortcode wherever you want to display the contents of an RSS feed. You can customize the number of items, too, show/hide elements like author, date, or excerpt, and set caching intervals for performance. Feedzy will fetch images (with options for default images if none found) and can limit title length to keep the feed list tidy.
Full-text RSS import: Feedzy Pro offers a full text RSS option that can fetch the entire article content from the source even if the feed only provides an excerpt. In other words, Feedzy will visit the original article and extract the full text (and images) to include them in your imported post, rather than using just the summary from the feed.
Other notable features:
- Keyword filtering (import or skip posts based on keywords)
- Automatic translation of feed content
- Multiple pre-designed feed templates (grid, list, etc.)
- Affiliate link integration, and text spinning via WordAI/SpinnerChief
- Support for importing YouTube or Vimeo feeds
- Optional integration with AI services (e.g. using OpenAI to generate excerpts or images for feed posts)
Pricing
Feedzy is a freemium plugin. The core plugin (Feedzy Lite) is free on WordPress.org. Feedzy Pro is a paid upgrade starting at about $99 per year for a single site license.
The premium license unlocks features like: advanced feed-to-post, full text import, keyword filters, templates, and more. There are multiple tiers of the pro license depending on the number of sites you want to use this on. Also, all purchases include a 30-day money-back guarantee.
2. WP RSS Aggregator

WP RSS Aggregator is one of the oldest and most popular RSS feed plugins for WordPress. Currently active on 50,000 sites with a rating of 90%.
It’s another freemium plugin that provides a robust solution for importing, aggregating, and displaying feeds. Out of the box, the free version lets you aggregate unlimited RSS or Atom feeds and display them using a shortcode or block.
The premium add-ons enable converting feed items into WordPress posts (feed-to-post) and fetching full text content. WP RSS Aggregator is often praised as a comprehensive RSS import solution with a clean interface and many extensions to fine-tune its behavior.
Key features
Feed to post: WP RSS Aggregator can import feed items as actual WordPress posts or any custom post type. The plugin will create posts containing the feed item content.
While the feature is there, you can only access it in the paid version of the plugin (unlike with Feedzy that gives you this for free).
You can choose whether to import the full content or just the excerpt, set the post status (publish or draft), assign categories/tags, and then map feed elements to custom fields.

Shortcode display: WP RSS Aggregator’s free version does a really good job at displaying feed items via shortcode or block on your site.
You can embed a feed (or multiple feeds) in any page, post, or widget area. The plugin comes with a custom block and a configurable shortcode with parameters to customize the output. By default, a feed display will list the item titles (linking to original articles), plus optionally the date, source, author, excerpt, and thumbnail.
Full-text RSS import: WP RSS Aggregator also includes a full text RSS feature in its premium plans that can automatically retrieve the full article content from sources that provide only partial RSS excerpts.
When enabled, the plugin’s built-in parser will fetch each feed item’s source URL and import the entire content (including formatting and images) into your site. According to the developers, the full-text import preserves the original formatting/media and even credits the source automatically for attribution.
Other notable features:
- Keyword filtering (exclude or include items based on keywords/phrases or tags)
- Feed categorization and folders to organize sources
- Automated or manual curation mode (you can manually approve/reject items before they display)
- Support for importing YouTube or Vimeo feeds
- Integration with content spinning services (WordAI, SpinnerChief)
- An RSS feed auto-discovery tool – you can enter a website URL and it will try to find the feed URL for you automatically
Pricing
WP RSS Aggregator is another freemium plugin on this list. The base plugin is free and fully functional for unlimited feed sources and basic displays.
Premium features are sold based on the number of sites you want to use it on and the advanced features you need. It goes like this:
Plan | for 1 site | 5 sites | unlimited |
---|---|---|---|
Basic | $79 | $129 | $249 |
Plus | $149 | $239 | $499 |
Pro | $179 | $279 | $599 |
Elite | $249 | $399 | $749 |
The features you get with each:
Basic | Plus | Pro | Elite |
---|---|---|---|
All template designs | Basic + | Plus + | Pro + |
Manual curation | Import as Posts | Full text import | AI integrations |
Automatic filtering | Schedule publishing | ||
Source management | Add custom content |
Not that I want to call too much attention to that, but if you were to use full text import in “feed to post,” this would cost you $179 with this plugin on one site. The same thing Feedzy charges $99 for. 🤫
3. WPeMatico RSS Feed Fetcher

WPeMatico is a powerful freemium RSS autoblogging plugin that automatically fetches feeds and publishes the content to your WordPress site as posts.
It’s essentially another feed-to-post engine for WordPress, making it one more good solution for running an autoblog or news aggregator site.
WPeMatico offers a ton of configuration options through a campaign system, and a suite of premium add-ons can extend its functionality (for features like full text extraction, filtering, etc.). The free version of this plugin is focused primarily on importing feeds as posts rather than displaying feed items via shortcodes. In other words, it doesn’t output a feed list on the front-end by itself.
Key features
Feed to post: This one’s actually WPeMatico’s core functionality. Even the free plugin lets you automatically import RSS feed items and create WordPress posts (or pages or custom post types) from them. You can set up multiple campaigns – each with one or more feed sources – and for each campaign configure how the imported posts should be handled.
For example, you can assign a category to all posts from a certain feed, choose the post type, and use a template for how the content and title are formatted. WPeMatico will periodically check the feeds and publish new posts to your site according to the schedule you set (premium feature).
It supports importing media. Images, videos, and audio from feed content can be pulled in and added to the posts. The plugin effectively uses WordPress’ cron system to schedule fetches; you can control the interval down to minutes for each campaign.
Unlike other plugins on this list, WPeMatico does not provide a shortcode or widget to simply display feed items on the front-end in list form. Instead, once it imports items as posts, you can display them like any other posts (e.g., via your theme’s “latest posts” widget).
Full-text RSS import: By default, WPeMatico will import whatever content is provided in the RSS feed (which might be just an excerpt). To get the full article text, you can use the official “Full Content” add-on. This premium extension enables WPeMatico to visit the source page of each feed item and scrape the full content from it.
Other notable features:
- Group multiple feeds into a single campaign
- Use feed auto-discovery by entering just a site URL
- Advanced parsing and filtering for media, images, tags, and custom fields
- The Synchronizer add-on can keep imported posts updated if the source updates or remove posts if they disappear from the feed
- The Polyglot add-on can automatically translate imported posts into over 100 languages
Pricing
The core WPeMatico plugin is free. Premium add-ons are available individually or in bundles on the developer’s site.
They offer tiered memberships depending on the number of sites you want to use the extension on. If you just need them for a single site, the prices per extension range from $19 to around $70.
There are also add-on bundles available. Those range from $80 to $310+.
WPeMatico’s modular approach lets you pick only the features you need, but getting everything can become expensive. These are annual licenses for support/updates. That said, the free version might suffice if you just need basic feed-to-post without full-text.
4. CyberSEO

CyberSEO is a premium autoblogging and content aggregation plugin that tries to go beyond RSS, incorporating a wide range of content sources and heavy focus on AI.
In the context of RSS feeds, CyberSEO can certainly import RSS/Atom feeds and convert them to posts (much like the other plugins), but it also supports importing from many other formats (JSON, CSV, XML) and platforms (videos, social media, ecommerce APIs, etc.).
CyberSEO’s flagship features include an integrated content “synonymizer/rewriter,” AI text generation, and advanced automation options not found elsewhere.
Note; there was previously a free “CyberSEO Lite” available in the WordPress repo, but that project has been discontinued…or that’s what the devs say at least. When you go to the actual page of the plugin on .org, it says “This closure is permanent. Reason: Guideline Violation” so you be the judge what it means.
Key features
Feed to post: CyberSEO will import feed items as full WordPress posts. It also includes options to set the post status, categories, tags, and even generate an author for these imported posts. It supports scheduling of imports and can auto-publish or save drafts. Essentially, as soon as you add an RSS feed to CyberSEO and configure it, the plugin will fetch new items and publish them on your site automatically.
In addition to RSS, you can feed it other content streams (for example, import products from Amazon or posts from Facebook) and it will post those to your site as well.
Full-text RSS import: CyberSEO is quite capable of importing full content from feed sources, similar to other plugins. For RSS feeds that only have summaries, CyberSEO can fetch the original article and extract the text. Moreover, it goes further by letting you process that content with AI. For example, it can use its synonymizer or integrate with OpenAI’s API to expand or rewrite the fetched content automatically.
Other notable features:
- The aforementioned synonymizer/rewriter for spinning content without third-party services
- Supports a good number of content sources beyond RSS: direct integration with Vimeo, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, Pinterest, AliExpress, Amazon, and more
- Integrates with ChatGPT/OpenAI for content generation, DALL∙E and Stable Diffusion for image generation, and other AI models
- You can use custom PHP code snippets to manipulate feed content during import
Pricing
CyberSEO is a premium-only plugin. A single-site license is $29.95 per year. They also offer multi-site licenses (e.g. $149.95 for 10 sites, $299.95 for 100 sites).
Despite wording about “one-time fee” on their site, effectively the license covers updates for one year, after which you’d need to renew. There is no free trial and since CyberSEO Lite is discontinued, you cannot test a free version.
5. WP Content Pilot

WP Content Pilot is one final freemium autoblogging and content curation plugin on our list. It supports RSS feeds and many other content sources, too. It allows you to set up campaigns that automatically fetch content from specified sources and publish it on your WordPress site.
In terms of RSS aggregation, WP Content Pilot can import posts from any RSS feed and publish them, similar to the other solutions that we covered above. But what sets it apart is the range of modules. Besides RSS, it can pull content from YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, eBay, Reddit, and more (many of those require the Pro version, though).
It also has built-in support for automatically adding your affiliate IDs to product links if that’s what you need, and for content spinning/rewriting (via third-party APIs).
Key features
Feed to post: WP Content Pilot’s RSS module will import RSS feed items as WordPress posts and let you publish them. You create a campaign, enter the feed URL(s), and the plugin will fetch new items at a defined interval and post them.
You can choose the post type, status, assign a category, etc. Each campaign has a template editor where you can define how the post content should be structured using template tags (for example: include the title, the content of the feed, maybe a source link, etc.). WP Content Pilot will automatically insert any specified keywords as tags and set the featured image if one is found in the feed. It also supports scheduling. For example, you can have it run the campaign every X hours.
Other notable features:
- Keyword-based fetching
- Integrates with article spinner APIs
- Import from sources other than RSS: Amazon products (with your affiliate ID), eBay listings, ClickBank products, Walmart and other ecommerce sites, Instagram, Pinterest, Reddit, Facebook posts from pages, Twitter, and more
- Automatic affiliate link insertion
- Post templates that include custom fields to map data into theme-specific fields or WooCommerce products if needed
- Filtering by keywords (include/exclude)
Pricing
The base plugin is free on WordPress.org and includes core features and a few modules. The Pro version is a paid upgrade that unlocks all modules and premium features.
Pricing for WP Content Pilot Pro starts at $99 per year for a single site license. Higher tiers are available for more sites or lifetime access.
The Pro license gives access to 20+ integrations and additional content sources like Amazon, eBay, Facebook, Twitter, etc., plus features like automatic translation of posts, automatic link affiliation, and content spinning.
Conclusion
These five WordPress plugins all promise to make RSS work harder for your site (while you can relax).
Feedzy stands out for giving you feed-to-post in the free version, plus easy shortcode displays if you just want to show those RSS items without creating new posts.
WP RSS Aggregator keeps things clean and expandable, but makes key features premium-only. WPeMatico is built for autoblogging with a campaign system, though you’ll need add-ons for full-text import. CyberSEO goes beyond RSS with wide content source support and built-in AI tools. WP Content Pilot mixes RSS importing with affiliate and social integrations.
Each has its own balance of power, price, and focus, so the best pick depends on your goals.
