These users benefit from delivering content in multiple formats (text, audio, video), providing easily understood content, and highlighting important information<sup>[8]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-epilepsy\">Epilepsy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>About <strong>0.6% of the global population<\/strong>, or 50 million people, <strong>have epilepsy<\/strong>, making it the most common neurological disease. But disabled users can also improve accessibility at their end by using screen readers, magnification tools, or speech recognition software like Siri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-uses-screen-readers\">Who uses screen readers?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Screen readers that read content and explain what\u2019s on the screen are among the most popular tools. Thus, Apple\u2019s VoiceOver is the most popular additional reader, since it runs on iPhones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-most-popular-mobile-screen-readers\">Most popular mobile screen readers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>About <strong>92% of people with disabilities use a mobile screen reader<\/strong>, 2021 data showed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Apple&#8217;s VoiceOver<\/strong> stood out as the undisputed leader, with <strong>72% of disabled individuals reporting its use<\/strong>. Following was Android\u2019s TalkBack, capturing a 29% share. This is down from 97.8% in 2019, or just a 1.5% decrease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines define a wide range of recommendations on how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The progress is rather disappointing, considering the fact that websites are getting more and more complex. Compared to 2018, home page elements have increased by 34% in 2022. <strong>In about 5% of all home page elements, there is an accessibility error<\/strong>. More elements mean more errors, making web content harder for people with disabilities to access<sup>[12]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-percentage-of-disabled-people-experience-accessibility-issues\">What percentage of disabled people experience accessibility issues?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering the high WCAG failure rates, it\u2019s no surprise <strong>just 13% of disabled users don\u2019t experience any accessibility issues<\/strong>.
