WooCommerce is a complete ecommerce stack (cart, shop pages, orders, taxes, shipping) that can sell pretty much anything. It&rsquo;s the most popular way to run a store on WordPress, and it&rsquo;s free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The key word there is <em>complete<\/em>. If the only thing you sell is courses, a full store stack is often more machine than the job needs. Add automated tax services, shipping labels, carrier integrations, and an extension for nearly everything, and you can see why &ldquo;just use WooCommerce&rdquo; is such common advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&rsquo;s how the course side of it actually works with Masteriyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading joli-heading jtoc-heading\" id=\"step-1-install-woocommerce-and-enable-the-integration\">Step 1: install WooCommerce and enable the integration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Install WooCommerce from <code>Plugins &rarr; Add New<\/code> and run through its setup wizard. Then head to <code>Masteriyo &rarr; Addons<\/code> and enable the <strong>WooCommerce Integration<\/strong> addon. It&rsquo;s one of the free addons, so no license is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading joli-heading jtoc-heading\" id=\"step-2-link-each-course-to-a-woocommerce-product\">Step 2: link each course to a WooCommerce product<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every course you sell through WooCommerce needs a linked product. Open the course in <code>Masteriyo &rarr; Courses<\/code>, go to <code>Settings &rarr; Pricing<\/code>, set the course to <strong>Paid<\/strong>, and enter a price. Then open <code>Settings &rarr; WooCommerce<\/code>. You get two options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Create Product<\/strong>: spins up a new WooCommerce product of a special type called <strong>Masteriyo Course<\/strong> and links it automatically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Link Existing Product<\/strong>: pick a product you already have. A confirmation dialog warns you that its type will change to Masteriyo Course before it converts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&rsquo;s also a handy reverse flow: in <code>Products &rarr; All Products<\/code>, hover any product and click <strong>Create Course<\/strong>. Masteriyo converts the product and drafts a linked course for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading joli-heading jtoc-heading\" id=\"step-3-understand-the-enrollment-flow\">Step 3: understand the enrollment flow<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the part that matters most, so read it twice. WooCommerce handles the payment, the checkout, and the order emails. The moment an order&rsquo;s status reaches <strong>Completed<\/strong>, Masteriyo enrolls the student automatically. If the order later becomes <strong>Cancelled<\/strong>, <strong>Refunded<\/strong>, or <strong>Failed<\/strong>, they&rsquo;re unenrolled. Enrollment always fires on Completed (that trigger is fixed), but you can edit the unenrollment statuses at <code>Masteriyo &rarr; Settings &rarr; Integrations &rarr; WooCommerce Integration<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two more useful settings live on that screen. <strong>Enable Add to Cart<\/strong> swaps Buy Now for a cart flow, so students can buy several courses in one go. And <strong>Auto Redirect to Courses<\/strong> drops students straight into their course after payment, instead of the standard WooCommerce order confirmation page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8505;&#65039; Note:<\/strong> enrollment requires a WordPress account.
